People are imperfect — but also completely astonishing. The world is full of perils and creepy dangers, and just as full of love, beauty, and the strange urge to make things. The moment you think you can predict the future is the moment you give up on it. So don't. Let yourself be amazed. Make something you love.

about

I grew up in Scotland and somehow ended up on a beach in Burleigh Heads — which still feels like getting away with something. I started out in forensic science, fell hard for code somewhere along the way, and never looked back.

These days I'm Head of Technology at MXstore, Australia's biggest motocross store. I look after the engineering team and the systems underneath it — most recently rebuilding our data platform on Oracle HeatWave and OCI. I still write open source when something annoys me enough to fix it.

I'm not someone who's always making something. But every so often the urge strikes, and when it does I want a home for whatever falls out. This is that home — small, occasional, and mine.
